This is just a mock up for now as I am sure there will be plenty more I need to add and play with.

But this is the mock of the packaging I am designing for Imperial Clothing. When someone orders 2 or more tee’s from imperialclothing.co.uk they will be sent in one of these Imperial pillow boxes.

I wanted to make it look like a package so used a brown paper texture for the design with some roughed up labels and writing on it. I think it works well so far but there are things that I could add and change.

I’ve been in talks with Ash of Captivate Clothing with the possibility of doing a bit of collaboration. I was hoping to create a design for Captivate that would be fresh and clean. I am currently in the process of sketching up my design where I will then computerize it ready to be put onto a tee. I can not wait to get it finished, but for now you can see my design sketch below.

I was in chats with Jacob Gibbins (previously interviewed on daretoodream) about a new logo for him.
He had shown me a logo he previously had and how he would like his new logo to look. So from his previous logo and ideas I combined the two to create this final logo which I am very pleased with. Its simple yet clean and pretty much puts the point across of what he does.

The logo has also replaced his old logo on his website which i think looks so sick and clean!

After a bit of a request and an ongoing attempt to put up all stuff I had on the blog before the crash back up, I’ve decided to put my own personal resume design back up for you all to see.

I made it so it would really stand out from the rest and not just fall into the pile of every other cv that employers recieve.

Ok guys, I’ve been meaning to do this for a while but haven’t got round to it.

But to start with for now I’ve got two simple desktop backgrounds for you to use.
If you click either of them images below it will take you to the larger version, then just simply right click on the picture and hit the ‘Set as desktop picture’ option.

I’m Jacob Gibbins, 18 years old, from Devon , Ride bikes , and take photos/make videos for a living… and it all started by wanting to see how my friends and I where riding, I then realised I liked taking photos and filming nearly as much as the riding itself, there in lies the birth of my career and passion. Just thought I would post a bit of an update as everything went a bit quiet.

This evening I went along to the 2nd years work exhibition of UCMK and have to say I was very impressed with all the work. I look forward to following in their footsteps and putting our own exhibition together next year! Best of luck to all you guys at uni

As for the website. I will be posting up my next interview tomorrow morning (later today), just to keep you hanging in suspense. This interview will be with the talented photographer from Devon, Jacob Gibbins. I’m sure you will all enjoy his work just as much as I do.

Afternoon guys. I’m Ben Silvertown I’ve just turned 16 and I’ve been working as a freelance graphics designer since I was 11, I’ve had no graphics design tuition or teaching, And i’ve learned the ropes purely through the world of online trial and error. What type of 11 year old gets on a computer and goes “That’s it, I want to become a Graphics Designer”? To be quite honest; Not me. (more…)

First year students were asked by the marketing department of Milton Keynes College to design various items for the annual event of Students of the Year. We were each asked to design the artwork for a booklet, menu, invitation and placemat. The designs would then be put forward to the principal of the college Rob Badcock who would choose if favourite design to take forward.

I decided against going crazy with illustrations etc and stuck solely to a clean and simple typographic design. I added a nice ruffled paper texture to the background to add a bit of depth to the design. I was amazed when it came to finding out that my design was picked! The colour they chose to go with was not my favourite of the ones I gave but I am still mega pleased.

Sadly I wasn’t able to attent the event but should be recieving the different items sometime soon. For now though, I have the main item which is the booklet. You can see this below.

And before I forget, a MASSIVE congratulations to my pal Jaz for not only winning the Business & Professional award, but for winning the overal Student of the Year award *claps*
